“Spring in Your Balance and Core” is an 8-class yoga course, where Olga will explore and focus on building an excellent balance, a healthy, youthful posture, and a strong core that builds a healthy back.
Balance is key to all functional movement. It helps your postural equilibrium, muscular balance, joint dynamics, neuromuscular stability. When we are middle-aged and beyond, balance, stability, and flexibility get harder to maintain. The great news is that yoga helps greatly with balance. Rather than focusing on poses and being still, balance comes from movement, mastering transitions, and developing your strength. In order to develop excellent balance, we need to understand our own spine and its natural curves. In this course, we will detect weak spots and learn ways to strengthen the entire spinal cord, keeping it strong, supple, and flexible.
A strong core is absolutely crucial for building healthy backs. This course will address dormant core muscles to increase core stability. You will learn how to Stabilize sacroiliac (SI) joints and the lumbar spine.
This course will be one amazing journey to experience the meaning of having “spring in your step!”, not only for your body but also in your empowered mind.
All levels of fitness are welcome.
At Yoga with Olga, LLC the health and safety of the students and clients are my top priority.
Due to the high vaccination rates and relatively low community transmission levels, fully vaccinated individuals don't need to wear masks. Masks will always be welcome and remain a requirement for unvaccinated individuals until further notice.
The center will continue its increased safety and cleaning measures, including social distancing, throughout the Ellicott City Wellness Center, mainly the community room.
Please, bring your own yoga equipment-- a yoga mat, belt, 2 blocks, and a blanket (if you wish to bring more than 1 blanket/bolster for relaxation, you are most welcome).
